12 Mar 2008 - Canterbury Youth celebrate coaching success

Our congratulations go to Under 10's Manager/Coach Chris Sparks who successfully passed the Football Association Level 2 Coaching certificate.

Chairman Graham Vaughan was keen to pay tribute to Chris and Richard Barrett who had passed his Level 2 certificate before Christmas, 'I am really pleased and thrilled for Chris and Richard as they worked hard preparing for this moment. I think this is a great achievement and shows the ambition of our Youth Football Club that we have such a dedicated team of managers and coaches".

Graham went on to say "All of our Managers/coaches are at least FA Level 1 qualified and we now have three level 2 and one level 3 coach within the club. This alongside our FA Charter Status and our excellent reputation for being a friendly well run and progressive club should give parents piece of mind that their children will be well looked after and can develop their football skills in a safe environment".

The clubs Youth Development Officer Kevin Craddock also congratulated the two coaches in gaining their FA badge stating “these qualifications are hard work to obtain both mentally and physically, they are earned with dedication and will benefit both the coaches and the players that they teach. Well done to them both.”

16 of our club managers/coaches recently completed an FA emergency first aid course at the UKC with FA tutor Mal Watkins. Funding for all courses is provided by the club. Club child protection officer Nigel Saunders has processed FA CRB checks on all club officials which meets the FA charter requirements that our club has been awarded. The club is committed to providing and funding coach education in our effort to improve standards of coaching with in our club.
