Deal Town Rangers 0 - 8 Canterbury Youth
27-09-2009 Under 10 Division 1
An excellent all-round team performance saw Canterbury Youth continue their excellent start to the season with an emphatic victory over Deal. The work-rate was excellent and the passing, flowing, football is back with a vengeance. A solid defensive performance from Matthew, Olly, George and Harvey ensured Luke kept his second clean sheet in as many games. The goals came from George, Ryan (2), Molly (2), Harvey and Jack (and 1 o.g.). It was a fantastic game, played in a great spirit. Well done to both teams.

Woodnesborough 0 - 3 Canterbury Youth
20-09-2009 Under 10 Division 1
The signs were there that Canterbury are getting back to their best in this hard fought victory at Woodnesborough. Canterbury dominate possession for large periods of the game but just lacked sharpness in front of goal. The great thing was that they were creating the chances, and but for some outstanding goalkeeping by the Woodies ‘keeper the score would have been greater. George opened the scoring with a shot-come-cross which evaded everyone to end up in the bottom corner. Ryan made it two just before the break and then got his second as he smashed the ball over the line after Jack passed it round the ‘keeper. Woodnesborough had their chances too, and Luke needed to be alert to keep the first clean sheet of the season. It was a great game to watch and a well deserved win – well done everybody.

Canterbury Youth 4 - 3 Ashford Borough
13-09-2009 Under 10 Division 1
Canterbury Youth won their opening fixture of the season the hard way. The visitors were awarded an early penalty to take the lead. Within a minute Canterbury equalised when Jack found space in the box, turned and slotted the ball home at the near post. Ashford then went ahead again as their free-kick caught Canterbury napping. Canterbury had chances to equalise, hitting the bar, the post and missing a penalty, before Olly smashed home a clearance from outside the box, drilling the ball into the bottom corner. Halftime: 2-2.
Canterbury started the second half brightly and created chances to go ahead, but a rare defensive mix up allowed Ashford to take the lead for the third time. Canterbury finally began to show what they are made of and pressed for the next goal, pinning the visitors in their own half, but Ashford defended magnificently. With just five minutes left Jack and Ryan combined neatly down the right and Jack’s cross was met by Tanaka at the far post to tap home the equaliser. Canterbury piled on the pressure in search of the winner. Finally, in the dying moments of the match, Canterbury got what they deserved: Tanaka played Jack in down the left and he cut inside the defender and bent his shot into the far corner passed the stranded ‘keeper. It was an excellent game with some great football played by both teams.
