10. Under 13 Colts Division Four - Last update 10-11-08

 

 

St Margarets 0 – 10 Canterbury Youth Colts
9-11-08 U13 Div 4
The under 13 colts played at St Margarets and despite the poor weather conditions won their match 10- 0. Goal scorers were not limited to the front row, Sean Rice the captain and cemtral defender had a brilliant run through to score. Elliott Fox was named Man of the Match.

 

 

Canterbury Youth Colts 2 – 1 Eythorne Rovers Colts
28th September 2008 Molton East Kent Youth League U13 Div 4
Canterbury Colts played Eythorne Rover Colts on a very warm sunny day at Spires Academy.
The game started with Eythorne having a stand in goal keeper as there’s was delayed in traffic, both sides were evenly matched but Canterbury had the majority of the possession in the first half, stopping Eythorne even getting into their half of the pitch, both sides had  chances but Canterbury’s keeper played outstanding and stopped Eythorne scoring with the help of Canterbury’s devastating defence.  Canterbury kept pressuring and a well placed ball caught Eythorne off guard giving Canterbury the lead.

Half time score 1-0.  Both teams played well but Canterbury had the majority of the possession and the speed, several times Eythorne managed to take players out but this didn’t stop Canterbury, Eythorne’s stand in goalkeeper did them proud but was unable to stop Canterbury’s 2nd outstanding goal.  Eythorne kept pressuring but to no avail until the last 3 minutes when errors from Canterbury allowed them to score, Canterbury tightened their defence and the final whistle went.  Final score 2-1.

 

 

Canterbury Youth Colts 4 – 8 Norton Sports
21-9-08 Merv Willis Memorial Cup Under 13s Preliminary Round
Canterbury Youth Colts were drawn to play Norton Sports in the preliminary cup draw, a team unknown to them.  Within a couple of minutes Norton slipped past Canterbury’s backup goalie and scored, two more goals followed in quick succession.  Canterbury rallied and fought back with 2 fantastic goals, one shot from outside the penalty box going into the top left hand corner.  Norton’s keeper pulled off some fantastic saves denying Canterbury, half time score 2-3.  With some fantastic footwork and passing from both teams, Norton managed to score again and again, Canterbury didn’t let themselves be walked all over and kept fighting, 25 minutes into the 2nd half with the score 7-3, Canterbury had possession of the ball and it was bound for goal but the keeper took Canterbury clean off their feet giving Norton a warning and Canterbury a well deserved penalty.  On the day Norton were the better team, final score 4-8.

 

 

Canterbury Youth 9 – 4 Dawes Hernhill Herons
14th September 2008 Molten East Kent Youth League Under 13 division four
The under 13 colts played Dawes Hernhill Herons at Spires today. They opened their season with a 9 - 4 win. Nathan Moat scored a hat trick, with Elliot Munday, Matthew Barrett and Grant Phillips joining in with the scoring. Phillip Hague the goal keeper earned himself "man of the match".
